Who’s Syed?

Syed Ayaz Fatmi is a digital artist, designer, and art educator whose work navigates themes of insecurity, cultural identity, and technological surveillance through the lens of digital imaging, motion graphics, generative AI, and interactive media. His practice critically engages with the ever-evolving relationship between technology and human perception, using speculative storytelling and data-driven visuals to challenge contemporary digital culture.

Syed graduated with an MFA in Digital Arts from Bowling Green State University and currently serving as Adjunct Faculty at the same institution. Syed has previously earned an MFA and BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Dhaka. His professional experience spans academia, industry, and research, having worked as a graduate teaching instructor, graphic designer, and research assistant. He has taught courses in digital imaging and creative technologies, developed branding and motion graphics for industry clients, and contributed to interdisciplinary research on digital arts and media. His work has been showcased in various International, national and regional exhibitions and publications that highlight the intersection of art, technology, and social commentary.
