Philosophy
I create an environment that encourages active engagement and exchange of thoughts in the classroom for a new generation of learners, with an understanding of the evolving and diversifying field of digital art and design. My aspiration is to move beyond traditional educational patterns and offer learning experiences that address the complexities of the twenty-first century.
The goal is to expose students to contemporary art/design projects and guide them to find their interest, from where they start researching on their own. Through regular in-class practice of researching and documenting, students develop the basics of brainstorming and concept generation. I believe skill is something we can develop overtime and everybody has their own pace. It’s more important to me that my mentees learn to think and develop habits like professional artists.
Central to my teaching philosophy is the belief that learning is a reciprocal process. My students inspire themselves as well as me to continue researching and experimenting with new techniques and real-world issues, which, in turn, enriches my teaching. As an artist who constantly explores how things function and impact, I motivate my students to adopt a similar mindset of curiosity and problem-solving.
